It provides examples of some of the forms self-hate takes, including taking blame but not credit, holding grudges, and trying to be yuber, and explores the many facets of self-hate, including its role in addiction, the battering cycle, and the illusion of control.

Recently I realized that this little book, written by Cheri Huber, planted revolutionary seeds that I still carry with me today. Now you can begin to see what’s really going on. When we are children, we learn to stop looking to ourselves to know what is so for us.
I can’t recommend it enough. Get to Know Us. Originally, I hesitated in posting this because I didn’t want to “advertise” some issues I was going through. This book changed my onthing. There’s really nothing to do except turn your attention inward.
There are lots of drawings and different fonts, etc. She travels widely and often, leading workshops and retreats around the United States and abroad, most recently in Costa Rica and Italy.

This book isn’t for everyone, but it should be. It never really crossed my mind not to believe what the voices in my head were thinking. Explore the Home Gift Guide. The layout of the book was also a little odd. This was the most helpful book I ever read.
There is nothing wrong with you
Soul without Shame is not as good as this but I will say it teaches how to address the superego by telling it to eff off. Because hating others, and abusing others, is just our own self-hate directed outwards.
We’ve been taught that this is what good people ylu, and a failure to do this will lead us to become a self-centered monster that will run amok in society.
