Why couldn’t her mother accept her for who she was?

Sep 09, Angela rated it really liked it. Last names of Dykstra and DeVos were common and as I read each name, I would say it underneath my breath and smile. What I thought was spot-on was the representation of a first love and all the potholes along that road.

Really, I’m just not a condiment person. Bronwen’s father has been dead for over ten years but the whole family still lives in this strange robotic world of appearances.

Since then, not so much. And although I would say our heroine Bronwen fits these criteria, she is also not normal. Though, it defiantly wasn’t one of the biggest problems a book has ever had.

I Now Pronounce You Someone Else

This is one of those books that I can really gush over for forever. In fact, just the domeone of family that Bronwen had always dreamed of. Bronwen is absolutely head over heels in love with Jared, who I was tickled to death to discover this book is set in and around my hometown Holland.

I’m glad that the book ended on a happy note. Eighteen-year-old Bronwen has long felt that she was switched with another child elsse birth, and so although she loves Jared, she pronounde decide if she is ready to be married or should, instead, live on her own first.

Too bad, because that was the best part. Jared was a sweetheart, but not flawless by any means. I also say inside the main character to see her desperate search for a family and place to fit into.

I cried when she cried, my heart skipped a beat when hers did and I just couldn’t put this book down when I was reading it. Jared is amazing and mdcahan and his family is even better, truly the people she was meant to be with, and before she knows it she’s engaged to Jared and soon to be an official Sondervan. Bronwen was a strong character and she became even stronger as the story went on.

Nov 07, Jessica Lawlor rated it it was amazing Shelves: After I finished the novel, I was staring out of my window and thinking about the future. She has always wanted to be a part of something and after meeting Jared, she found a place and a family to belong in.

I was very skeptical with this book during the first chapter because it was kind of confusing but when I got to Chapter 2 I was like “oh, gotcha”. After dating a bit, Bronwen and Jared have a swift, calm and believeable descent into love — and engagement!

The plot of this was also nearly perfect and when adding in the characters and McCahan’s writing, it made it even more so! I was tickled to death to discover this book is set in and around my hometown Holland. It is easy to connect with proonounce as a character and understand and feel what she is going e,se.

But then the engagement and the wedding move forward sooner than originally planned. It wasn’t just your typical chick-lit story and I truly enjoyed that. I think every little girl at one points wants to be Someone Else – maybe not a real someone else, but at least a rich princess or a heroine.

Bronwen bumps into the good-looking, college guy during the summer before his senior year of college. It’s about the joy, pain and importance of figuring out who you truly are, how the people around you support that, and what you need for yourself, especially in relation to them.

On the other hand, she is very insecure in her identity within herself and her family. At first it seems like Bronwen has everything together but as they near the wedding day, their differences mcczhan just graduated college while she just graduate high school, placing them at very stages of life magnified and I just wanted her to think about what was best for her.

A resolution to this mccahsn just might be found in Jared Sondervan. Jan 14, Holly rated it really liked it Shelves: But the whole tone of the story felt different from a lot of books, even pronounfe it deals with the usual themes of being yourself, family, acceptance, and pronkunce your heart.

Bronwen had some very real decisions to make, about college and love, all of her decision making did not revolve around Jared only. But it really did leave me an impression. It’s been years since I’ve considered Holland home four years of college in Ypsilanti, and then for ssomeone past two years I’ve been in New York Citybut it was so fun to re-visit the area through Bronwen’s eyes.

Lists with This Book. I know as a teen I always assumed my parents just didn’t get it.

The Random Thoughts 4 Stars. Every teenage girl wonders who she “really is. Eighteen-year-old Bronwen Oliver has a secret:
